Thanks for visiting Meraki. I’m Rachel Lowry, a New York-based journalist and lifestyle guide editor.
Meraki is a Greek word that means “to do something with soul; to put something of yourself into your work”. This blog is just that for me — a visual diary that began this year as a creative outlet after long days chasing heavy news stories as a reporter.
I grew up in the mountains, in a small Utah town at the crossroads of the West. In 2013, I moved into a New York apartment on the West Side with three spitfire girls. I studied Journalism at Columbia University, before going on to report for TIME, WSJ and Institutional Investor. These five years in New York have been both magical and incredibly formative.
This blog is an excuse to cure my city wanderlust. It chronicles my daily life – from sartorial finds to lifestyle musings to places that inspire. This is a peek into my world. I’m grateful for the support of followers from across globe who share my passion for all things Meraki. Shoot me an email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or find me on Instagram and Twitter. Happy reading!
